Alright, I'm back from my blogging break...again. "Where have you been Taylor? What have you been up to?", you may be asking. (There I go pretending like I have readers again...oh well, it's my blog so I can pretend that my fictional readers care about what I have been up to and that they have been checking in every day anxiously awaiting my next super interesting post.) I have most recently been focused getting this house of mine decorated, so until I'm bored with home decor, that is mostly what you can plan on reading about here! (There is always room for a few distractions though!) So today I stumbled upon a pretty awesome website that has done a great job of eating up my afternoon and has my mind racing with all sorts of ideas!
COLOURlovers.com allows you to create and browse all sorts of color palettes and patterns and then publish your creations for other members to "love" and comment on. Here's where things get really good though...are you ready for what makes the site extra cool??? So you have these palettes and patterns that you like or have made, but then what are you supposed to do with them? Sure they are great to reference for wedding or home decor inspiration, but that wouldn't get me too excited. What does get me excited is that you can visit one of the sites they have partnered with and turn your creations into art or, my favorite, fabric! Wowza, right?! If that doesn't get the creative wheels in your head turnin, then nothing will! The site they teamed up with for the custom fabric is
spoonflower.com and although I have known about this brilliant site for awhile now, Colourlovers helps bring a whole new batch of possibilities to the table. I have only created one palette so far, but am pumped to play around with some of the patterns and hopefully create something I can turn into a stunning fabric with which to make some beautiful pillows and who knows what else! I'll let you know what I come up with, but in the mean time, here is my first palette for you to check out!
Not too shabby for my first go at it, huh? That's all I have for ya tonight, so head on over to
colourlovers.com and have some fun! Feel free to share if you come up with something you're really proud of! Until next time...
