My Random Style Me Pretty Post Pics Explained....

So, as I was basking in the glory of my wedding being featured on Style Me Pretty Texas, I had a realization...some of these pictures that I think are just fab, could be quite strange to others!  That is why I would like to take this opportunity to point out the reason/importance of some of the pictures shown on the blog.  I do understand that my explanations will not effect your indifference towards some of these, but at least you will kind of "get it"...ya know?  So here goes...

Internet, meet Orange Bear.  Orange Bear, meet interenet...this it the stuffed animal I have had since I was about 8 or 9 months old.  Starting in about 4th or 5th grade, everyone tried to talk me into framing him in a shadow box and I refused to do any such thing.  I was asked, "well what are you going to do when you get married?  Bring him on the honeymoon?!".  This answer always seemed obvious to me..."YES!".  So as my photographer was snapping pics in my room, so stumbled across O Bear here, and once I told her his story, she could not resist including him in a few of the shots.  Here he is perched on one of my wedding gifts from Tye.  (Don't judge....)

You may be wondering who this precious little boy is in a few of the pictures...meet Oliver!  Oliver is my nephew!  (My husband's brother's little boy.)  Not only is he extra cute, he just happens to be extra smart also.  I love this picture so much because it is such a good, natural smile from both of the handsome boys in the picture.

This picture is neat because the man I am talking to was a wedding surprise from me to Tye and everyone else.  Two days before the wedding I decided the ceremony was lacking and I decided I wanted to try and find a bagpipe player.  Tye and I are both of Scottish decent and it made sense, plus...let's face it, the bagpipes just sound cool!  His name is Lars Sloan and he founded American Bagpipes and besides being an amazing bagpipe player, he is a great sport.  I told him that he was a surprise and even with VERY little notice, he not only agreed to play, but he managed to sneak in and help me pull off my surprise!  He comes highly recommended from this bride!

This church was not only a beautiful place to have our ceremony, it was very meaningful.  Tye and I were married in the same church my parents were married in, on their 28th wedding anniversary.  (How cool, and special is that?!)

This pic is great because it includes pictures of my pups!  In keeping with the living room/showroom "feel", I thought it was only appropriate to include some personal pictures and I wanted my sweet little angels to be front and center!  (If you look really closely, you can see them in their matching Christmas sweaters, hehe!)  This picture is also a great example of Darryl & Co.'s great work!  I don't think my guests even realized that my venue did not normally include a fireplace, rugs, club chairs, etc. (all of the furniture brought in was via Darryl & Co.) because Scott, my planner/designer, did such an amazing job making everything "fit" in the space!

These are the programs that my mom, cousin, and myself made.  I was such a huge fan of my Ralph Lauren Inspired Engagement Pictures,  that I tried to find several ways to incorporate them into the wedding.

My guest book, again featuring those amazing engagement pics!

Tye is from the small town of La Grange where many of the residents are of Czech or German decent and where you can find some of the best bakeries in the state, so we decided to have a dessert station with kolaches and other baked goods from a La Grange in place of a traditional grooms cake.

My amazing parents!  My dad wanted to surprise my mom with a special anniversary dance!  Aaawwww!  Aren't they great?!  I only pray that Tye and I still want to dance like that when we are celebrating our 28th anniversary!

I really wanted to include plaid in the wedding decor not just to reflect the Ralph Lauren inspiration, but also because both Tye and myself are of Scottish decent and it seemed like the perfect way to honor our heritage.  (Along with the bagpiper also!)

So there you have it...hopefully I provided a little more insight into our wedding.  It really was the perfect day and I could not have hoped for more!  Please feel free to ask if you have any questions or want more info. about any aspect of the day!  Until next time,
Taylor
